About Computers In Ministry:
Computers In Ministry is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to equip Christian ministry organizations to strategically use technology to accomplish their mission.
CIM partners with Christian non-profit ministry organizations, primarily in Colorado, Arizona and Indiana. CIM consists of a shared core IT staff that provides strategic information services planning, system implementation, on-site and remote technical maintenance, support and training services to our ministry partners.
In order to accomplish this CIM challenges and equips others to use their computer skills for Christ’s ministry. All of the staff of Computers In Ministry are ministers for Jesus Christ who are sacrificially committed to using their computer skills to most effectively reach our world for Christ.
TECHNICAL SERVICES SPECIALIST – PHOENIX AREA
Position Objective:
To provide ministry focused, best-in-class tech support and leadership our Ministry Partners rave about!
Position Description:
The Technical Services Specialist will initially be a part-time salaried position with Computers In Ministry, directly reporting to the President or Vice President – Ministry Partner Services. The position will grow into a full-time position as CIM adds new Ministry Partners. Responsibilities of this position include:
- Assisting in all aspects of planning, implementing, documenting, monitoring, maintaining and supporting 700+ end-users and workstation hardware and software systems for CIM and its 30+ Ministry Partners
- Working with CIM Helpdesk Coordinator, Ministry Partner leadership and other CIM staff to achieve the best blend of comprehensive, end-user focused support services
- Developing and maintaining a pro-active, secure and reliable hardware infrastructure for those end-users
- Assisting in making appropriate IT recommendations to CIM’s Ministry Partners
- Assisting in maintaining an effective overall support infrastructure to best serve CIM’s Ministry Partners
- Assisting Server Administrator supporting server and related systems for CIM’s Ministry Partners
- Assisting with the overall technical support needs of CIM and its Ministry Partners
- Assisting CIM in professional and spiritual mentoring for CIM internships and other programs
- Assisting with other duties as assigned by the President or Director of Ministry Partner Services
Qualifications:
- Active and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to be a minister for Christ in all relationships
- Engaging, enthusiastic and encouraging phone and in-person customer support skills
- Ability and desire to mentor others professionally and spiritually
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Passion and ability to learn new things
- Aptitude for pro-active systems and project management
Experience:
- Five years experience in end-user, hardware and software technical support
- Three years support experience in a Windows-based network environment
- Experience in Windows server administration desired
- Microsoft certification desired
- Macintosh support experience desired
- Experience with team-based projects
